HIS LIFE & LEGACY

Faith in practice.
Memory in our hearts.

Family roots in Vaso, Gujarat

Suryakant J. Bhatt was a pujari—a Hindu priest—and a pandit who performed marriages, pujas and blessings.

For his son Raju, those traditions were part of growing up. He watched his father perform Hindu rites and sometimes joined him. Those shared moments remain part of the family’s remembrance.

Suryakant and Urmila’s families had roots in Vaso, Gujarat, where they lived just a few houses apart. The two later met in England. Their story connects generations, places and the traditions carried between them.

After his father’s passing in 2006, Raju returned to India. This memorial offers a place to honor Papa’s life and gather the memories that continue to connect his family and friends.

With gratitude, from his family.
